About

Andrew

Andrew graduated from Sheffield University back in 2003 before heading for the bright lights of London, Melbourne and Dublin amongst other places globally as he embarked on a near 20 year career in investment banking, culminating in heading up global Fixed Income businesses. His true passion however, is wine and cheese!

Having taken extensive wine qualifications and as a qualified cheesemonger, he created his own retail and hospitality business on the South Devon coast alongside working in the vineyard and winery at a leading UK wine estate and becoming a fine wine investment specialist. After success here and wanting to finally head back north, he relocated and rebranded as The Northern Wine Guy.

In his current remit, Andrew has both high net worth private clients and corporate clients across the UK that utilise him for his services which include corporate and in-house wine tasting experiences, fine wine investments, wine cellar builds and wine brand collaborations. Andrew is regularly seen with a glass of wine in his hand and is a published wine writer, international wine judge and the co-owner of The Sheffield Table, specialising in showcasing UK wines.

Chris

Chef and entrepreneur Chris Hanson grew up in High Green, leaving Ecclesfield school to train as chef at Barnsley College. Alongside his culinary training, Chris also spent over six years in the kitchens at Whitley Hall Hotel, Grenoside working his way up from commis to running the fish section as a chef de-partie.

Since those early years, Chris has spent his career working in a number of leading independent hotels and restaurants around the region and in more recent years has established two hospitality social enterprises (Chef’s Counter and Not Just Pink Custard) where Chris and his team pass on their skills and expertise to people wanting to work in the hospitality sector but facing barriers to employment (homelessness, mental/physical health conditions, SEN, etc).
